SOL-Perpetua™ Solar Water Heating System Installation Instructions and Operating Manual For Series "A" Pumps
Components - Working Fluid
The working fluid of a SOL Perpetua™ system is pure water and, in frost prone climates, propylene glycol in varying concentrations. Propylene glycol is considered non-toxic and is used in food additives. It makes an excellent antifreeze in a solar collector system being able to protect it from freezing in temperatures down to -5lC (-60F) when used in the proportion 40% water to 60% glycol.
BAPL can supply the working fluid which we believe will suit your climate. The water is distilled and de-aired. The propylene glycol has an additive to increase its Ph.
If you cannot find a source, BAPL can supply the working fluid which will suit your climate. Appropriate products are:

Ethyl and methyl alcohol must not be used as an antifreeze in the working fluid of a SOL Perpetua™ system. Use only distilled water and propylene glycol.
